Why this website exists
IQ scores come up often — in classrooms, articles, casual conversations and online quizzes — yet the term is used far more than it is explained. An intelligence quotient describes performance on standardised tasks that measure reasoning, problem-solving, pattern recognition and related cognitive abilities. It offers a snapshot of how someone handles those specific tasks. It does not capture the full picture of a person’s intelligence or potential.
For anyone simply curious about how they perform on reasoning problems, an online assessment is an accessible starting point. IQ Tester Pro provides a browser-based IQ-style test built around visual logic, pattern recognition and spatial reasoning. The current version includes 40 questions, runs on a timer, and produces a score once you finish.

What the test measures
The test is built from 3×3 figural matrices: eight geometric figures follow a rule, and you work out which figure belongs in the empty ninth cell. Each question shows six possible answers and has exactly one correct one, you have 40 minutes on a running timer, and your score is calculated in your browser the moment you finish or the clock runs out.
Three related abilities are involved. Pattern recognition asks you to identify a relationship between shapes, positions or other visual elements, then apply that relationship to the missing or next item. Spatial reasoning concerns how objects relate to one another in space; some problems require you to mentally track changes in position, orientation or form. Visual logic combines observation with reasoning, asking you to examine the relationships between visual elements and determine which answer follows the established pattern. None of these lean heavily on vocabulary or memorised information.

How the test is built
Every question, the scoring formula and the distribution chart were built specifically for this site. The scoring is deterministic — the same answers always produce the same score.

What the score does and does not mean
Your result is calculated from how many of the 40 questions you answered correctly and how quickly you finished, mapped onto a standard normal distribution with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15 — the same scale used to describe IQ scores generally. It is a genuine, deterministic calculation, not a randomly generated number.
The bands on that distribution are descriptions of where a score sits, not labels for a person’s overall intelligence. An IQ-style score reflects performance on one assessment under specific conditions, and familiarity with the question format, concentration, timing and the testing environment can all influence the outcome.
It is not a clinically validated or professionally administered intelligence assessment. Treat it as an informational and entertainment exercise, not as evidence for a diagnostic, medical, educational-placement or employment decision. Intelligence extends well beyond one measurement: creativity, knowledge, communication, practical judgment and motivation are not captured by an IQ-style score. Full detail is in our Disclaimer.
